US President Donald Trump has said that the militants have been allowed to provide security in the enclave for now
Hamas has carried out a public execution of seven men in Gaza, according to recently published graphic footage circulating on social media.
The videos emerged on Monday, just a day after a ceasefire agreement to end the Gaza conflict was signed by US President Donald Trump and mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye.
In the footage, masked gunmen - some wearing the green headbands associated with Hamas - could be seen placing seven blindfolded men in front of a crowd and forcing them to kneel.
The video then shows the gunmen lining up behind the captives and executing them with shots to the back of the head, to shouts of "Allahu Akbar" from the crowd.
Under Trump's peace plan, Hamas is to disarm and give up control of Gaza. However, the US president gave the militant group the green light to continue acting as a security force in the enclave, "for a period of time."

"They did take out a couple of gangs that were very bad... and they killed a number of gang members," he told journalists on Tuesday. "And that didn't bother me much, to be honest with you."
He added that if Hamas "does not disarm, we will disarm them."
The group killed at least 32 men in a security crackdown in Gaza over the weekend, Reuters wrote on Monday. The men belonged to "a gang affiliated with a family in Gaza City," the outlet cited a Palestinian official as saying.
In the initial phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, the militant group freed its remaining 20 Israeli hostages in exchange for around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. However, Hamas has not yet handed over all the bodies of deceased hostages, prompting Israel to restrict humanitarian aid and delay the opening of the southern border crossing with Egypt in response.
