ATHENS, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Greece and Turkey held the 62nd round of their "exploratory talks" here on Tuesday, the Greek national news agency AMNA reported.
The previous round was hosted by Istanbul on Jan. 25 this year after a five-year hiatus marked by tensions.
The aim of these talks is to explore points of convergence for possible future negotiations on the delimitation of the continental shelf and the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean Seas based on international law, according to AMNA.
No statement was issued on the results of Tuesday's meeting.
"Greece is coming to the talks in good faith," said Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, according to a press released e-mailed from his office. "We hope that they will lead to finding a common ground for the resolution of the one and only bilateral difference we have with Turkey," namely the delimitation of the EEZ and of the continental shelf.
On Tuesday, Dendias also met here with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki. The Greek minister said that his country wished to enhance cooperation with Palestine to promote peace and prosperity in the region.
Dendias also expressed Greece's support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine issue.
