ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Jan. 22(PIA) - Fourteen businesses from Capiz are among the 33 commercial establishments in the region recognized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) last month in Iloilo City in view of its "Bagwis Program" which gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers and strive for customer satisfaction at all times.
These awardee - establishments include the four branches of Mirola Hardware, Inc. in the municipalities of Ivisan, Pontevedra, Mambusao and Roxas City which secured the Silver Bagwis seal.
Mirola president Lorna Miralles, who gave a testimony on behalf of the regional awardees, said that her team became keener in terms of accepting delivery from suppliers especially with products that must bear the PS and ICC marks, more willing and prompt in serving their customers as well as in addressing their complaints which have brought big impact to their operations.
"Before, when we were not yet a Bagwis awardee, our employees were in panic mode when DTI conducts monitoring in any of our stores, but when we started complying with the requirements under the Bagwis Program, we have seen the benefits and improvement impacted by our compliance with the program," she said in Hiligaynon.
Other awardees from the province are Dancorr Car Care Center (DCCC) which won again its Silver Award while DCCC's Pueblo de Panay Branch and Handyman - Robinson's Place Roxas bagged their respective first Bagwis Silver Seal.
Amado Lim Enterprises, Inc. has leveled up from bronze to silver.
DTI - 6 regional director Rebecca Rascon and the agency's regional office Consumer Protection Division chief Felisa Judith Degala presented the awards to the establishments represented by their respective owners/presidents or managers.
"There can be no long-term success without good, honest and responsible business practices," Rascon said.
Penshoppe branches at City Mall Roxas Avenue, Gaisano City Roxas and Robinsons Place Roxas; Memo-Robinsons Place Roxas; Forme-Robinsons Place Roxas; and Regatta-Robinsons Place Roxas are also 2019 Bagwis Gold Awardees but no definite schedule yet on the conferment of the award.
